Hinterland Connect Bus Service

The Hinterland Connect bus service trial provides convenient transport between Maleny and Nambour with connections to TransLink bus services to the coast, and train services to Brisbane.

Future of the service

In late 2012 Translink reviewed all South East Queensland bus services. The review recommends that the Hinterland Connect Service should cease. 

The report on the SEQ Bus Network Review is now available on the TransLink website . The report states:

'Hinterland Connect - This trial route is being removed due to a combination of low patronage and the cost implications associated with making the trial a permanent part of the TransLink network including construction of bus stops and introducing the integrated ticketing system.'

Hinterland Connect bus fares

Fares are calculated on the number of zones you cross on your journey. Identify the number of zones you will be travelling from and to on your journey, and use the zone calculator to calculate your fare.

Please note: 

• All concession ticket holders must be in possession of a valid concession card.
• There are no other ticket types (for example, weekly or monthly) available.
• STAS student passes not accepted.
• go cards are not valid on this service.
