Hinterland Connect Bus Service Trial
The Hinterland Connect bus service trial provides transport between Maleny and Nambour. The service connects to TransLink bus services to the coast, and train services to Brisbane.
The Hinterland Connect bus driver has timetables and further information.
Future of the service
The Hinterland Connect trial bus service has now been extended to 26 June 2015.
The Hinterland Connect is a valued service for the local community. The trial will now continue for a further 12 months and numbers will continue to be monitored. The service will run on weekdays, but not on weekends or public holidays.
From 1 September 2014, the Hinterland Connect (Maleny to Nambour) bus service trial timetable will have better connection times with trains at Nambour station.
This timetable improvement means departure times may shift by up to 30 minutes. Please refer to the new Hinterland Connect Timetable (effective 3 November 2014) for service information.
This service is now jointly funded between council and the Queensland Government. Council's contribution is funded by the Public Transport Levy.
Throughout the trial, the service will be monitored. Passenger numbers and value for money will be checked to decide on the future of the service.
Residents need to use it to keep it.
