Hinterland Connect Bus Service Trial
The Hinterland Connect bus service trial provides transport between Maleny and Nambour. The service connects to TransLink bus services to the coast, and train services to Brisbane.
The Hinterland Connect bus driver has timetables and further information.
Future of the service
In late 2012, TransLink reviewed all South East Queensland bus services. The review showed low usage of this service and removal was recommended.
The trial service has been extended to 27 June 2014. The service will continue on weekdays, but not on weekends or public holidays.
This service is now jointly funded between council and the Queensland Government. Council's contribution is funded by the Public Transport Levy.
Throughout the trial, the service will be monitored. Passenger numbers and value for money will be checked to decide on the future of the service. If there are not enough people using the service the trial will end on 1 July 2014.
Residents need to use it to keep it.
Refer to the media release from The Member for Glasshouse on 5 August 2013.
Refer to council's media release of 27 June 2013 for more information.
