Pest Survey Program
Council conducts pest survey programs. This is in accordance with Section 241 of the Land Protection Act 2002.
The Act allows council officers to enter properties throughout the Sunshine Coast region. Officers can also monitor and enforce compliance under the Act as follows:
- survey properties which may harbour declared pests
- map the distribution of declared pests.
Particular emphasis was placed on inspecting the localities of:
- Yandina Creek
- Mt Coolum
- Maroochy River.
The program started on 1 July 2013 and continued until 30 September 2013.
Officers doing these inspections will make every attempt to contact residents before entering their property.
Program details are listed in the minutes [PDF 2757KB] of council's Ordinary Meeting of 23 February 2011.
