Aroona, Bushlark and Miranda St - Stormwater improvement

Aroona

Sunshine Coast Council is committed to improving stormwater quality, aligning with Council’s strategies, guidelines, and current industry best practice techniques.

Start Date

As part of this program, we will install litter baskets within existing stormwater pits and place storm watered street trees throughout the area.

This project will improve water quality and environmental outcomes by:

  • capturing most pollutants before entering waterways
  • increasing the number of street trees and improving tree health using passive irrigation and reducing the speed and volume of stormwater runoff.

Litter basket installations will be completed in January and February 2024, followed by the installation of passively storm watered street trees in March and April 2024, weather and site conditions permitting.
