Waste facilities Conditions of Entry

Conditions of Entry apply to all Sunshine Coast Council waste management and resource recovery facilities.

Sunshine Coast Council provides 8 waste disposal and resource recovery centres across the region. 

  • Beerwah resource recovery centre
  • Buderim resource recovery centre
  • Caloundra Landfill and resource recovery centre
  • Kenilworth resource recovery centre
  • Mapleton resource recovery centre
  • Nambour landfill and resource recovery facility
  • Witta resource recovery centre
  • Yandina resource recovery centre.

We aim to provide safe, welcoming and respectful facilities for use by all within the community and we take everyone’s safety very seriously. That is why we have a set of site entry conditions at all waste disposal and resource recovery centres in the Sunshine Coast region.

These Conditions of Entry apply to all Sunshine Coast Council waste disposal and resource recovery centres (inclusive of retail markets).

This means that anybody entering these sites agree to follow these conditions upon entry.

Conditions of Entry

Persons entering this site must comply with the following conditions of entry:

  1. Offensive and abusive language and/or aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated.
  2. Full adherence to all traffic rules including the displayed speed limit signs is mandatory.
  3. All vehicles must give way to site machinery.
  4. Compliance with signage and requests of site staff is mandatory at all times.
  5. Maintain reasonable community dress standards.
  6. Suitable enclosed footware is mandatory. Bare feet, thongs or sandals are not permitted.
  7. Dispose of waste and recyclables only in the approved locations (management reload fees apply for any waste incorrectly declared or disposed of in incorrect area).
  8. Children must be supervised and remain in the vehicle at all times.
  9. Animals must be restrained and remain in vehicles at all times.
  10. Unlawful entry, unauthorised scavenging and unauthorised disposal of waste is prohibited.
  11. Any waste not clearly identified on the site signage cannot be accepted at this site (examples of waste not accepted at this site include explosives or radioactive materials).
  12. Lighting of fires or smoking or vaping (inc. e-cigarettes) is prohibited at this site.
