Venue Information

Kawana Community Hall is a multi-functional, self-service venue adjacent to the Kawana Library and within close proximity to shops, public transport, parks and Kawana Beach. Officially opened in 1989, the venue maintains its original charm and remains a very popular venue for the community to undertake a diverse range of regular activities. A commercial kitchen is incorporated into the venue for use in conjunction with events (kitchen is not available for independent/exclusive hire). Bookable hours are 6am – midnight, 7 days a week. Note: Amplified noise must cease at 10pm.

Fees and charges

Community/Not For Profit (NFP) per hour$35

Note that all applicable fees and charges will be confirmed at the time of booking. Venue hire and bond charges are dependent on the hirer and event.

Cleaning POA: Required for events where food and beverages are consumed and/or have a large number of attendees.

Bond: May apply for casual events - $400 (considered low-risk) or $1,500 (considered high-risk events, i.e. events that involve a large number of attendees and/or alcohol consumption).

Security: Charges range from $67 to $105 per guard/per hour - required for all considered high-risk events. Minimum duty requirement of 5 hours applies.

To qualify for Community/Not For Profit rate the group, school or government organisation must provide documented proof.

All bookings must have current Public Liability Insurance with a minimum of $20 million coverage. Private individuals may qualify to use Council’s Public Liability Insurance. For more information, refer to conditions of hire.
