Cotton Tree Holiday Park rated one of Queensland’s best

Readers of family tourism website HolidayswithKids.com.au have rated council’s Cotton Tree Holiday Park as one of the top 10 in Queensland.

Each year, with the help of travel-loving families across Australia, HolidayswithKids.com.au compiles a go-to list of parks that take family holiday fun to the next level.

The voters are asked to take into account the park’s facilities, activities for kids, customer service, comfort, location, value for money and the overall experience.

Cotton Tree Holiday Park was rated No.4 in Queensland and the second best in the south-east corner.

“With direct access to the Maroochy River and Maroochydore Beach, a stay at Cotton Tree Holiday Park will immediately prepare the family ready for some outdoors fun,” the website says in its summary of why Cotton Tree is so popular.

“Surf the waves or try your hand at windsurfing, sailing and fishing in the calmer waters of the river.”

HolidayswithKids.com.au also highlighted that facilities next to the holiday park included the Cotton Tree Aquatic Centre, offering both 50m and 25m pools, while families could cook up a storm with a riverside barbecue or sample the many local cafes and restaurants.

Tourism Portfolio Councillor Jason O’Pray said Cotton Tree was one of the Sunshine Coast’s “real gems”.

“It’s a ripper of a place for families so it’s no surprise that it’s been rated as one of the best in the state,” Cr O’Pray said.

“I’m very proud of Cotton Tree Holiday Park and shocked it wasn’t rated as the best on the planet.

“You have the terrific facilities in the park, an outstanding relaxing location next to the beautiful Maroochy River and the patrolled ocean beach at Maroochydore and it’s just a short walk to a whole range of eating spots, shops and services.

“There’s also public transport right on the front door if you want to head out to explore.

“We are continually upgrading the family-friendly aspects of the whole of Cotton Tree to make it an even more attractive destination for our visitors and locals.”

The Cotton Tree Holiday Park was fully booked for the whole period of the school holidays – December 12 to January 22.

Council operates six beachside holiday parks at Dicky Beach, Mooloolaba, Maroochydore, Cotton Tree, Mudjimba and Coolum.

Facilities at the Cotton Tree Holiday Park include:
