Sunshine Coast Council Libraries invite you to enjoy an evening with acclaimed Australian author Chris Hammer at Maroochy RSL from 6pm on Thursday, October 6, 2022.

Hear Chris talk about his latest release The Tilt, a superb thriller from award-winning author of the international bestsellers Scrublands, Silver and Trust.

Gripping and atmospheric, The Tilt is a stunning multi-layered novel from the bestseller. Tilt follows the journey of newly minted homicide detective Nell Buchanan’s return to her hometown  after being assigned a decades-old murder – a 'file and forget'.

However, this is no ordinary cold case with as the discovery of more bodies triggering a chain of escalating events in the present day.

As Nell starts to join the pieces together, she begins to question how well she truly knows those closest to her.

Could her own family be implicated in the crimes?

Chris is a respected journalist with a 30-year career covering Australian federal politics and international affairs.

For many years he was a roving foreign correspondent for SBS TV's flagship current affairs program, Dateline.

Receiving critical and commercial success when it was published in 2018, Scrublands was an instant bestseller, topping the Australian fiction charts.

Chris will be joined by special guest Leigh Robshaw,My Weekly Preview journalist and accomplished feature writer with more than 20 years-experience.

In 2019 Leigh released her memoir, a witty and adventurous book titled You Had Me at Hola: In Search of Love & Truth in South America.

Tickets are $25 per person and bookings essential via council’s library website.

Doors open at 6pm. Maroochy RSL bistro and bar will be available to purchase light refreshments. Enjoy live music with Josh Curtis. The author event will begin at 7pm.

Chris Hammer’s books will be available for purchase at the venue, including a book signing session.
