Bridge maintenance in Mountain Creek
Bundilla Boulevard and Cootamundra Drive bridges at Mountain Creek are about to refurbished as part of Sunshine Coast Council's asset maintenance program.
Sunshine Coast Council is committed to maintaining its assets to the best possible standards across the region.
As part of this commitment, refurbishment works are set to take place on the Bundilla Boulevard and Cootamundra Drive bridges.
Division 6 Councillor Christian Dickson said the works were part of council’s Bridge Maintenance program that spent $778,000 last year to ensure our local bridge network remains safe and functional.
“The aim of these works at Bundilla Boulevard and Cootamundra Drive bridges is to make sure both are in optimal condition and remain that way for decades to come,” Cr Dwyer said.
“Works will include extensive sampling and investigation of the concrete elements of the bridges as well as patching and treatment of some areas of the reinforced concrete structure.
“Some coating and sealing will also be done on the underside of the bridges and to the piles.”
Works on both bridges are programmed to start in early September and completion is anticipated within 16 weeks (weather dependent).
Some investigation work will be carried out in mid-August that may affect traffic for short durations.
Traffic management measures will be in place at varying times throughout investigation and maintenance works.
Partial closures of both bridges will be required at some stages.
