Caffeine connoisseurs of the Sunshine Coast now have an incredible new café to enjoy at Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve at Maleny.

Overlooking the stunning Glass House Mountains, the official opening of the aptly named Mountain View Café marks the start of an exciting chapter for a new family business. With Judy, Bruce and daughter Julia and her partner Tom teaming up to offer great coffee, delicious meals and sensational views.

Judy and Bruce have successfully run bars and cafes in Melbourne for many years and will be sharing their knowledge and experience as Julia and Thomas quickly learn the ropes.

“We’re really excited to be opening our doors,” Julia said.

“We know there’s been a lot of interest already, so it’s great to officially be up and running.”

“We’re looking to source as much of our product locally as possible, and we’re so lucky to be surrounded by some amazing produce here on the Sunshine Coast.”

Division 5 Councillor, Jenny McKay, was one of the first of many visitors to the new café and welcomed the new addition to the award-winning Mary Cairncross Rainforest Discovery Centre.

“The café is long-awaited and will be much appreciated- and the coffee is great,” Cr McKay said.

“This café will be sourcing a lot of its product locally, so it will have a great flow-on effect for the local producers and suppliers.

“I encourage everybody to head up and enjoy a great coffee overlooking the beautiful Glass House Mountains surrounded by the pristine environment of Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve.”

The café will be open seven days a week, serving coffee, cakes, scones, breakfast and lunch daily.
