Group of people huddled in a circle

Strong Community Portfolio Councillor Taylor Bunnag said Harmony Week was a chance for us to celebrate our multicultural communities.

“The Week runs from March 17 - 23 and reminds us that we live in a wonderful and culturally diverse region where everyone is welcome,” Cr Bunnag said.

“Sunshine Coast Libraries have a range of activities and resources available during Harmony Week.

“Join in the celebrations, get creative and help to make sure everyone in our community feels they belong.”

Harmony Week Conversation Circle

Come together and celebrate your diversity in a supportive community. Practise your speaking and listening skills in a friendly group of adults where English is your additional language. A trained teacher is on hand to guide and encourage you. Attendance builds confidence and relationships.

Come along to this special conversation circle at Caloundra Library on Tuesday, March 18 from 12.30pm - 2.30pm.

Shine a Light on Racism

Harmony Week also includes the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination on March 21.

Join our Shine a Light on Racism campaign patrons and commit to standing against racism. Racism hurts and it’s never okay.

We are asking our community, businesses and sporting clubs to commit to fighting racism in all forms, to educate themselves and others, and Do The Work to contribute towards ending racism in our communities.

If you’re not sure where to start or what to say, why not start a conversation with ‘G’Day’.
