Lazy Sunday afternoons spent enjoying free entertainment in a variety of beautiful settings across the Coast. Sound good?

Then why not join Sunshine Coast Council’s second Sundayze Series on Sunday 26 June from 11.30am to 3.30pm at the Maroochy Bushland Botanic Gardens at Tanawha.

Themed Celtic Revival the free community event will feature local bands Cloudstreet and Ironstone along with the Maleny Ceili Band and dynamic duo Steve Cook and John Thompson providing some toe-tapping fiddling tunes.

There will be a jumping castle, face painter and crazy candles workshop for the kids as well as food stalls and coffee for parents.

Each Sundayze Series event – held on the last Sunday of the month from May to September – has a different theme. The first,Green Beatz was a great start with Ash Grunwald performing to a packed house at Boreen Point.

Community Policy and Programs Portfolio Councillor Jenny McKay said the Sundayze Series was a great way to enjoy free entertainment in some the Region’s great parks and reserves.

"The Sundayze Series provides a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together in a family friendly environment and enjoy a free, chilled-out afternoon of great entertainment," she said.

The third event in the series will be an afternoon of merriment at the LOL concert featuring the comedic talents of Melinda Buttle, Lindsay Webb, Mick Meredith and Chris Franklin on 24 July at Noosaville.

Then, mark your diary to groove to some laid back jazz sounds 28 August at Lake Kawana Community Centre’s outdoor river stage. The final Sundayze Series event on 25 September will be a great afternoon at Tickle Park, Coolum.
