A well-loved beachside playground at Caloundra’s Happy Valley is due for an upgrade and council is inviting feedback from the community before it decides on new equipment.
A well-loved beachside playground at Caloundra’s Happy Valley is due for an upgrade and council is inviting feedback from the community before it decides on new equipment.
The timber fort is the focus of community consultation and will be the subject of the first stage of upgrades as it has reached the end of its life and can no longer be maintained safely.
Council is also seeking comment on other elements in the playground to help with future upgrades.
Division 2 Councillor Tim Dwyer said the community’s ideas for the playground were an important part of the planning process.
“The playground at Happy Valley is popular with kids of all ages, but the play elements are designed mostly with toddlers in mind,” Cr Dwyer said.
“We are keen to hear from families about what they would like to see as part of this upgrade.”
Complete a short survey by on 5pm July 21, 2017 to have your say on the new playground features.
You can also request a hard copy survey from council’s customer service centres.
This consultation and renewal follows council’s recent renewal of the Moffat Beach Park playground, which the community provided extensive input for and was awarded a Queensland Parks & Leisure Australia Awards of Excellence for “Best Playspace Under $500,000”.
