Cr Law Plastic free July
It’s Plastic Free July, and this month council will be sharing tips, stories, videos and events to showcase simple ways to swap out single-use plastics and reset our sustainable mindset.
Upgrades in Division 10
I am happy to advise that the Silverwood Drive Park Shade Sail Project in Burnside has finished and the play park is now open for everyone to enjoy. The new shade sail will offer protection and shade in the warmer months and the existing rubber swing pad has been replaced with a much friendlier rope pad.
The carpark construction of the Nambour Aquatic Centre is also now complete, while the installation of the new park seat at Whalley Park in Nambour is now underway. This new seat will be installed in a similar position to a previous seat that had reached end of life and was removed.
Free Tree Day
There will be a free tree day at the Nambour Administration building forecourt on 31 July from 9am-noon. Come down and grab some natives to help your garden bloom.
Did you know you can also book now for National Tree Day and join in Australia’s largest tree planting event on Sunday 1 August, from 9am-2pm?
Bring your family and friends out to Doonan Creek Environmental Reserve, Verrierdale and plant a tree to help restore the reserve. There are plenty of free family friendly activities on offer.
