Cr Robinson - Another first for local government
Did you know the majority of Australia’s international voice and data traffic travels via submarine cables? Every time you like something on Facebook, search Google or make an international phone call, you’re using a submarine cable. In yet another first for a local government in Australia, our council is bringing a new submarine cable to the country.
Another first for local government
Did you know the majority of Australia’s international voice and data traffic travels via submarine cables? Every time you like something on Facebook, search Google or make an international phone call, you’re using a submarine cable. In yet another first for a local government in Australia, our council is bringing a new submarine cable to the country. As well as reducing risk by expanding the number of options for data to travel through this will, over time, lead to a reduction in international communications costs for business and consumers.
A milestone for Bli Bli’s newest park
Last week Mayor Mark Jamieson and I had the privilege of attending the official handover of the one hectare central park within the Parklakes II estate. The park features an extensive all-abilities playground and a café. The playground has some outstanding unique play features, including a seated flying fox and a distinct climbing apparatus. This park joins a network of more than 1040 parks and open spaces managed by council.
Running for a good cause
Bli Bli residents and visitors once again turned out in great numbers to support the Bli Bli Unite Family Fun Run/Walk. This is an outstanding event that brings together friends and family to share in a wonderful outdoor experience, while raising money for White Ribbon Australia. It was a successful day, with thousands of dollars raised to help raise funds for victims of domestic violence. Thank you to Edith Blanck, the Bli Bli Neighbourhood Watch team and all the local business community who made this event such a success.
