Council’s Environmental Centres will temporarily close
To ensure public safety, Sunshine Coast Council will close its Environmental Visitor Centres - Mary Cairncross, Maroochy Bushland Botanic Gardens and Maroochy Wetlands Sanctuary - and Sugar Bag Recreation Park’s mountain bike trails from Monday morning, until further notice, due to the predicted wind impacts of TC Alfred.
We encourage our community to stay updated via our Disaster Hub.
How is TC Alfred tracking?
TC Alfred has been moving southwards and weakening and is forecast to turn southeast tonight, moving further away from the Queensland coast while weakening further.
By Tuesday, it is expected to slow down and turn westward, moving back towards the southern Queensland coast.
