Development application services

Sunshine Coast Council provides a number of services for customers who are thinking about lodging a development application.

Director Development Services Julie Edwards said the services available cater for people at all stages in the development application process.

"Our services are available for everyone, no matter what size or scale the project is," Ms Edwards said.

"I encourage people with any questions about development applications to call the dedicated planning number, check council’s website or come in and see our staff in person.

"We have a range of services available and we want people to know that they can contact council at any stage for information and assistance.

"Pre-lodgement meetings, professional officer meetings, counter enquiries and requests for written advice are the most popular development application services.

"These services help to reduce the amount of requests council makes for further information from applicants.

"Complex or involved development applications that are likely to exceed the time and expertise available from a counter enquiry might progress into a pre-lodgement meeting, professional officer meeting or request for written advice.

"All the information about the development application services council provides is on our website.

"For people who aren’t sure what service best meets their needs, they can call our dedicated planning phone number or drop into one of our service counters."
