Sunshine Coast Council has listened to the community and is pleased to present the new and improved Diddillibah Ash Lane Park ready for use.

Division 7 Councillor Ted Hungerford said he was delighted to see the Diddillibah Ash Lane Park continue to develop into a place the local community could enjoy and be proud of.

“Council would like to thank local residents for their time and for providing feedback in relation to the Ash Lane Park Concept Plan,” Cr Hungerford said.

“The recently completed improvements to this area of parkland have created the perfect setting for open space community functions and social gatherings, nicely complementing the Diddillibah Community Hall next door.

“In a two staged program, the park has been upgraded with two contemporary shelters including two table and seating combinations each and a new BBQ located in the centre.

“A new water tank has also been added to catch much needed rain water.

“There was also general landscape beautification works undertaken including laying new turf.

“The new shelters have been strategically placed in the middle of the park between the basketball court and the open space ‘kick about’ area so parents can relax and enjoy a meal in the shade and watch the youngsters at play.

“These improvements will enhance opportunities for community get-togethers for locals of the area so gather your family, friends, colleagues or community group and head to Ash Lane Park at 664 Diddillibah Road, Diddillibah.”
