Proposed Kayak and Fishing Pontoon at Brampton Crescent, Brightwater
Many locals would have received a letter from council seeking their thoughts and feedback on a proposed public pontoon for the Brightwater area. Thank you to those for taking the time to consider the proposal and share their views. We have heard you and after reviewing all the feedback that was received and speaking with council staff, the decision has been made to not progress with the pontoon concept. It’s clear from feedback received that the community appears divided on the project, which is something that I expected given the anecdotal feedback I have received over the past few months. I have spoken to the Brightwater Community Association, who have advised they accept the wishes of the community. Whilst this may not be the news some of you may have wished for, I am pleased to advise that the funds can still be used for other projects in the Brightwater area. I look forward to sharing details of these in the future. Thank you again for taking the time to submit your views, community engagement is so important to ensure that we achieve the best outcome for our local community.
