East west Noosa bypass opens
Travelling to and from Noosa’s eastern beaches will be a whole lot quicker and easier following the completion of the third and final stage of the Eenie Creek Road project.
Travelling to and from Noosa’s eastern beaches will be a whole lot quicker and easier following the completion of the third and final stage of the Eenie Creek Road project.
The new bypass was designed and built to have minimal impact on the natural environment and features –
- extending the length of the bridge to span the Noosa National Park
- raising the height of the bridge to almost 6 metres above the heathland to minimise impact on the fauna and flora below
- a new and innovative bridge construction technique that made it possible to build completely from the deck, ensuring none of the ground below was disturbed.
The new road and associated cycle and pedestrian pathways will significantly improve access, reduce traffic volume and delays on roads in Noosaville and Noosa Heads.
