Free hearing screening will be available during Seniors Week at Sunshine Coast Libraries.
Sunshine Coast Council is partnering with Australian Hearing to provide free hearing tests and information for community members regarding the latest devices and options available under the Government free voucher scheme.
Studies show that hearing is a major health concern in Australia today as one in five Australians over the age of 15 has some degree of hearing impairment.
An estimated one in every two people over the age of 60 suffers from hearing loss. Many people remain unaware of their hearing loss until alerted by others, often enduring years of frustration and embarrassment.
Bookings can be made online or by calling your local library. Australian Hearing will then contact you and book a 15 minute hearing test between the listed hours.
These sessions provide a convenient opportunity for people to access free hearing services, no matter what their age and assist them in improving their hearing and their quality of life.
