  • Global professional services firm Genpact expects to create approximately 250 new Queensland jobs
  • New jobs in finance, insurance, IT, and admin, thanks to support of the Queensland’s Government’s Invested in Queensland program and Sunshine Coast Council.

One of the world’s leading professional services companies has announced plans to expand its Australian presence – setting up on the Sunshine Coast – and aims to employ approximately 250 Queenslanders over the course of the next five years.

Genpact employs more than 115,000 people in over 30 countries, providing professional services to clients across banking, insurance, retail, hi-tech, manufacturing, consumer goods and health care.

New employees will be able to capitalise on the Sunshine State’s great lifestyle and state-of-the-art communications network as Genpact enables staff to work primarily from the Sunshine Coast, while it expands its client base.

Genpact’s selection of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast is another boost for the region’s and the state’s growing financial and professional services sector, delivering more local jobs and flexibility for its employees.

Sunshine Coast Council put forward a business case to assist in the location decision-making process and continued to support Genpact, connecting them with Sunshine Coast’s key industry bodies, commercial partners and major infrastructure providers.

Austrade along with Trade and Investment Queensland facilitated Genpact’s discussions with the Queensland Government about the company’s expansion proposal, highlighting the coordinated support available for major companies looking to grow in Queensland.

Genpact Country Manager, Australia, and New Zealand Richard Morgan said Genpact was honoured to contribute to the nation’s economic growth and job creation, and we will continue to bring digital transformation to our clients’ backyards, combined with the true power of a globally distributed workforce to drive strategic impact.

"We’d like to thank the Queensland government for their collaboration and support in helping us select the Sunshine State as a destination to continue to drive value for our shareholders, clients, communities, and employees."

Sunshine Coast Council Mayor Mark Jamieson said the Sunshine Coast continued to attract corporate investors who see real economic growth prospects and who offer job creation for our region.

“I am pleased to welcome our next globally listed, multinational public company into our region’s unique entrepreneurial ecosystem.

“Undertaking a competitive national site selection process and determining the Sunshine Coast is the best place in Australasia, going forward, speaks volumes to what we are creating within the region and the game-changing infrastructure that supports these opportunities – the Sunshine Coast International Broadband Cable, Maroochydore City Centre and Sunshine Coast Airport expansion to name a few.

“The Sunshine Coast’s international designation as a UNESCO Biosphere is a great strategic fit for Genpact, who has a complementary commitment to climate sustainability, winning among other things the Outstanding Achievement in Corporate Excellence at the CII-ITC Sustainability Awards 2021.

“With a forecast economic benefit upwards of $150 million for our Sunshine Coast community, we fully support Genpact’s vision to establish their Australian Global Centre of Excellence here and look forward to working with them to make that a reality.”
