High-quality Sunshine Coast food products, jointly marketed under the Seasons of the Sun umbrella group, can now be purchased in a range of hampers – just in time for Christmas.

Peregian-based couple Raymond and Irene De Vos became so enamoured with the quality and range of the Coast’s food growing and production through the Sunshine Coast Council-backed group, they decided to start up a cottage industry, compiling a range of food and beverage hampers under the brand D’licious Gourmet Hampers.

"The Coast is one of the most fortunate locations in Australia and the world, in that we can produce the finest quality foods here all year round," co-principal Irene De Vos said.

"When I heard Sunshine Coast Council was backing Seasons of the Sun, it inspired us to contact the members and create a range of attractively packaged hampers for personal and business markets.

"The business has been steadily growing; in fact, an international resort has just signed up for some in the last week," she said.

The Seasons of the Sun hampers contain products exclusively created by both large and boutique producers on the Sunshine Coast, in mini-corporate packages, medium gift-sized or full hampers for prizes or special event giveaways.

Economic Development and Entrepreneurship Portfolio Councillor Lew Brennan, said the De Vos’s were on to a winner.

"Seasons of the Sun participants produce world-class products, and D’licious Gourmet Hampers are beautifully packaged as a high-quality memento for visitors to the Coast," he said.

"Raymond and Irene have not only hit on a wonderful business opportunity, they have come up with an exceptional method of showcasing what our producers are capable of.

"Recently, celebrity chefs George Calombaris and Gary Mehigan were in Caloundra and were bowled over by the hamper idea."
