Learn how to really appreciate the value of fresh, home-grown food in your own backyard, balcony, school or community garden at free Organic Home Gardening sessions at Sunshine Coast Council libraries during August and September 2013.

Growing your own food is all about taking control of your health and saving money. Join presenter and author Leonie Shanahan who will take you through the basics of growing organic food that will give you healthy herbs, salads and vegetables.

In this session you will learn about:

- soils, compost, worm castings and minerals

- types of gardens (pots, tanks, hay, in-ground and more)

- when to plant seedlings and how to look after them.
