Harmony comes to the Sunshine Coast

The first sod was turned today on Palmview’s largest masterplanned community – a new $3 billion development called Harmony.

Set on 378 hectares, the AVID Property Group development will deliver more than 4800 homes for 12,000 future residents as well as a town centre and 100 hectares of parklands,

With a development timeline of 15-20 years, AVID Property Group anticipate Harmony will create around 9000 jobs and the first land release will take 12 months to complete.

AVID Property Group General Manager Bruce Harper said Harmony was the culmination of 10 years of planning.

“After many years of careful planning we are thrilled to finally break ground on Harmony,” Mr Harper said.

“Harmony is the first masterplanned project to commence in the Palmview area, with the first stage of works the extension of Claymore Road into Peter Crosby Way - Harmony’s main entry road.

“AVID’s focus at Harmony is on delivering authentic Sunshine Coast living – and to do that we have a strong emphasis on embracing all that is unique about coastal living.”

Mayor Mark Jamieson said the start of the $3 billion project would not only deliver quality housing to meet the growing needs of the region, but provide a boost for the local economy through jobs and their flow-on effects.

“It’s a significant day for the Sunshine Coast, with the masterplanned community at Palmview now underway,” Mayor Jamieson said.

“It’s not every day that a $3 billion project commences in the region – and one that will provide homes to more than 12,000 of the total of 17,000 people who will live in the overall master planned community at Palmview.

“The Coast will benefit hugely from the 9000-plus jobs that will come online as a result.

“Harmony’s main entry road – Peter Crosby Way – will not only service future Harmony residents and those in neighbouring communities, but also pays homage to the site’s Crosby family history.

“There’s much to be excited about on the Sunshine Coast at the moment, with a number of key infrastructure projects underway all adding to the appeal of buying and living on the Coast.”
