Discover your inner creative and attend one or more of the 30-plus workshops on offer as part of Horizon - festival of arts and culture.

With everything from weaving and music production to cooking, dance and kids activities there is something for everyone during Horizon.

If you’ve ever thought about producing music, the Dangerous Song Workshop could be for you.

This workshop will explore the technology used to create the ‘Dangerous Song’ performance.

It will look at the tools used to create the music - an iPad and the iOS app Thumbjam to sample and loop the animal sounds, - as well as the audio processing tools used on the Voice.

Queensland Ballet returns to the Coast to present three one-hour workshops in ballet and repertoire for students of dance.

Presented by former Sunshine Coast dancer Tamara Hanton, this is a workshop every budding ballet dancer will love.

Older children (12+) will love creating a lantern at Caloundra Library to feature in the lantern parade as a part of the Horizon Ignites opening night event in Caloundra.

If you love weaving or would like to learn how, don’t miss this amazing opportunity to learn traditional natural fibre basket weaving from elders Christine Nabobbob and Priscilla Badari of the Kunwinjku language group from Gunbalanya community, West Arnhem Land.

Christine and Priscilla are keepers of the cultural knowledge that has been passed down their matriarchal line of weavers.

Facilitated by local artist and weaver, Rene Bahloo of Weavery, these special workshops are subject to minimum numbers and pre-bookings essential.

For the foodies among us, don’t miss Artworkz Garden To Plate - an interactive and informative workshop that focuses on creating mouth-watering canapés and meals from fresh produce.

These workshops focus on dips and canapés that are easy to whip up for functions and entertaining.

The fabulous crew from Artworkz will be putting on a range of workshops during the festival including school still life art, henna, drama and dance workshops.

Immerse yourself in the musical, healing and artistic passions of 12th century mystic Hildegard of Bingen when Three Forces of the Soul present a collaborative workshop.

Participants are invited to delve deeper into Hildegard’s teachings and be taken on a journey that inspires and informs, using the tools of visual art, herbal medicine and music.

On Father’s Day, enjoy Spring Vibes in the Gardens at the Maroochy Regional Bushland Botanic Garden with a host of free workshops, kite making, nest building, cats-claw weaving and a solitary bee-hive making.

For the kids, there’s a wonderful range of activities to play with art in nature at the first ever Children’s Eco-Arts Fest at Crystal Waters.

Working with local artists, children will have the chance to weave, paint, draw, sew and construct with a beautiful array of natural materials.

We invite you to attend one of the many diverse and inspiring workshops on offer during Horizon.
