Council is pleased to partner with a variety of organisations to bring community carols events to residents and visitors across the region. As a major partner, council continues to support family focussed, free celebrations.
To kick off the Christmas season, the Nambour Community Carols will be held this Friday night, December 9, from 4-8pm at the Nambour Showgrounds.
Division 10 Councillor Greg Rogerson encouraged Nambour and surrounding residents to grab a chair or picnic blanket and come along to enjoy a night of festive fun.
“With entertainment from local school groups, churches and individual artists there will be something for everyone to enjoy,” Cr Rogerson said.
“This year there will be a Twilight Christmas Market from 4-8pm, kids rides and food stalls open from 4pm, the carols concert starting at 6pm and a fireworks display at 8pm to celebrate this great time of year.”
On Saturday, December 10, there will be the Carols at Cotton Tree from 4.30-8.30pm in Cotton Tree Park and Coolum Christmas in the Park from 7pm.
Division 8 Councillor Jason O’Pray said this year’s Carols at Cotton Tree would provide a great night of family entertainment.
“Once again, the organisers from Calvary Christian Church have put together a very special Christmas production,” Cr O’Pray said.
“Bring the family along, and join in a fun night of local talent, including singers, dancers, magicians, favourite carols, fireworks and, of course, a visit from Santa.”
A bit further north, residents in Coolum and surrounding communities can head to Tickle Park, Coolum Beach to enjoy Christmas in the Park from 7pm.
Division 9 Councillor Steve Robinson said Christmas in the Park was set to be a great night of carols aimed at bringing the community together.
“Each year, I love seeing the local community and visitors coming together to enjoy this special event,” Cr Robinson said.
“I encourage everyone to come along early to secure a spot, bring a blanket or chair and a bite to eat from the local businesses, then settle in and enjoy the carols, entertainment and fireworks.”
Council is a major partner in bringing five regional community carols events to residents and visitors across the region - Carols at Cotton Tree, Carols on Kings Beach, Nambour Community Carols, Glasshouse Country Carols and Christmas in the Park at Coolum Beach.
