Demons enjoying life on the Coast

The Melbourne Demons are halfway through their pre-season camp on the Sunshine Coast, mixing in living at Twin Waters with training at the Maroochydore Multi-Sports Complex and the Kawana Sports Precinct.

They've also hit the local shops on food shopping expeditions so they can prepare some of their meals in their self-contained apartments.

"We're having eight productive days to get ready for the new season," head coach Paul Roos said.

"We're transitioning from running to pure footy now.

"Preparation is really underway for the NAB Cup with a bit more game planning and some longer sessions.

"These camps are always good for the first-yearers who have come on board. They get to know their teammates by rooming with them and living with them, as well as training with them. It's always a good experience."

New Demons rookie Jack Wagner is one of two Queenslanders on Melbourne’s list for 2016. The 21-year-old played his football for Aspley in Brisbane before heading south.

"One of my best mates lives up here, so I get up here (Sunshine Coast) a fair bit," he said.

The Demons are the sixth of seven AFL clubs to train on the Sunshine Coast during the pre-season and held an open training session for their members and fans at Maroochydore on Saturday.

The Western Bulldogs will conclude the program with their camp next week.
