Noosa Regional Gallery presents four fun packed days for kids during the September school holidays. Full of cool, creative and arty fun, the holiday program is inspired by the Creative Generation exhibition. The workshops cater for kids aged 4 to 7 and 8 to 12. Each session costs $15 per child and includes all materials.

  • Surrealism Self Portraits

Wednesday 21 September, 10.30am to 12 noon for ages 4 to 7 years. Inspired by surrealist artists, children will create a unique self portrait using paint and collage. - Moving Image Cartoon

Wednesday 21 September, 1.30pm to 3pm for ages 8 to 12 years. Children will create a flip book with their own original cartoon character. - Weaving Wonders

Thursday 22 September, 10.30am to 12 noon for ages 4 to 7 years. Using a variety of colourful threads and fabric, children will weave wonders creating multiple pieces. - Family Tree wall hanger

Thursday 22 September, 1.30pm to 3pm for ages 4 to 7 years. Children will explore the structure of their family tree and create a beautiful representation to hang on the wall. Inspired by the Creative Generations exhibition, children will use a variety of materials to represent their family tree. - Cartoon Caper Portraits

Wednesday 28 September, 10.30am to 12 noon for ages 4 to 7 years. Ever wondered what you would look like as a cartoon? Explore facial features and expressions in this simple and fun workshop. - Paper People Sculptures

Wednesday 28 September, 1.30pm to 3pm for ages 8 to 12 years. There are numerous uses for newspapers - twist, tie, tape and create as the human form emerges from the pages. Children will construct their own 3D human form with newspaper and other mixed media. - Surrealism Print and Collage

Thursday 29September, 10.30am to 12 noon for ages 4 to 7 years. Inspired by the work of surrealist artist Jean Arp, children will explore printmaking a collage to create their own unique artwork. - House of Cardboard

Thursday 29 September, 1.30pm to 3pm for ages 4 to 7 years. Have you ever built a house of cards? This fun workshop will have you constructing your own miniature cardboard house, using simple construction techniques and a variety of mediums.
