For those with a passion for music or beautifully hand crafted musical instruments, the Soundmakers Symposium is a must see at Sunshine Coast Council’s Butter Factory Arts Centre, Cooroy from 30 May to 1 June 2013.
Soundmakers Symposium is a superb exhibition of wind and stringed instruments celebrating the remarkable diversity and skill of Sunshine Coast instrument makers as well as the significance of the timber and music industries in the heritage and the development of the region.
All are welcome to attend the official opening of Soundmakers Symposium at 6pm on Wednesday 29 May 2013 and be entertained by the Bamboo Rockets playing Vern Gibson’s assemblage of ‘scrap’ instruments made from fence-posts, oil cans and suitcases, drum sets and guitars.
