Venue 114 will host the Sunshine Coast Business Women’s Network International Women’s Day (IWD) Breakfast on Tuesday March 8.

A global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women around the world, IWD also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. The campaign theme for this year is #BreakTheBias and the audience will be treated to hearing from guest speaker, Dr Jo Brown.

With more than 20 years of experience working within elite sport including the Jamaican Olympic Committee, Swimming Australia, the Australian Paralympic Committee, New Zealand Rugby League, Tennis Australia and the Olympic Winter Institute of Australia, Dr Brown has championed the fastest athletes on land and in the water.

Dr Brown is widely considered a world leader in the treatment and rehabilitation of hamstring injuries; Venue 114 look forward to welcoming Dr Brown to share her story as she continues to pave the way for more women to lead in the high-performance medical field.

Along with this impactful conversation, guests will enjoy the exquisite flavours of a menu curated by much-loved local caterers, Penfolds Catering.

Manager of Venue 114, Louise Thompson she was thrilled to host another incredible IWD event.

“It’s one of my favourite days of the year, coming together to celebrate the achievements of empowered women everywhere and this room will certainly be full of them,” Ms Thompson said.
