The Noosa Junction Special Area Levy funds are contributing towards Noosa Junction’s positive future with its first dedicated business manager as part of its new work plan.

Sunshine Coast Regional Council Division 11 Councillor Russell Green said the recent appointment of John Waterhouse and the new work plan is the start of a strong partnership driven forward by a working group representing local traders, property owners and Council.

“I am pleased that the Noosa Junction Special Area Levy has contributed towards appointing John to drive the roll out of the plan’s actions aimed at strengthening Noosa Junction as a combined retail, commercial and entertainment centre,” Councillor Green said.

The Noosa Junction Project Working Group chairperson Lorraine Marshall said the group had worked tirelessly to put together a plan for Noosa Junction that will really see the area come alive.

“This included the appointment of a dedicated town centre officer, marketing initiatives and master planning for the Junction for the businesses that are located here, customers that shop here and the whole Noosa community,” Lorraine Marshall said.

“The working group appointed John to head up this task and we are thrilled with his appointment as he brings a wealth of experience in small business, brand and business development, marketing, sales and training,” she said.

“We look forward to working with him as we establish and deliver the early steps towards our overall vision for the Junction’s future,” she said.

The Work Plan that implements the recommendations from the Noosa Junction Commercial and Economic Planning Strategy, includes consultation and feedback from local traders, shoppers and property owners, who identified Noosa Junction as the heart of Noosa, intertwining purpose with pleasure. It included recommendations aimed at assisting the Junction in achieving its full potential.

These recommendations have formed the basis of the Work Plan. More information is available on the attached Fact Sheet.
