Division 6 Councillor, Christian Dickson said Edgewater Place Park was popular with the community and the fountain added to the charm of this local park.
"The new maintenance schedule will ensure this valuable community continues to provide a welcome and relaxing green space for the vibrant local population," Cr Dickson said.
"The fountain not only provides a wonderful focal point for the lake, it also provides an important aeration function."
Council’s contractor this week replaced the fountain pump and cleaned and flushed the associated plumbing. For maximum community enjoyment, and to help extend the life of the pump, fountain maintenance and running times have been rescheduled. A three monthly maintenance regime and an annual overhaul will enable more timely removal of aquatic growth while maximising performance. Pump running times have been adjusted and the fountain will now run cyclically, one hour on and two hours off, between 7am and 6pm daily.
