The play that inspired the hit film "The Full Monty", Ladies Night is the story of four unemployed guys motivated by "The Chippendales", who form a male revue to make some fast cash. They pitch the idea to a local club owner and take lessons from a slightly shop-worn dance instructor with a heart-of-gold in all manner of things, including what women want from a male revue (and how to deliver it).
See these average blokes attempt to take their clothes off to some familiar tunes like ‘You Can Leave Your Hat On’, ‘Bad to the Bone’, ‘Smooth Operator’ and ‘Wild Thing’ to name just a few.
Ladies Night is the kind of show that is safe to take your granny to…Cheeky, fun, a little bit mischievous and you will be assured of a giggle.
Will they go all the way? Come along and see for yourself.
Written in 1987, by Anthony McCarten and Stephen Sinclair, Ladies Night has been translated into 12 languages and remains New Zealand’s most commercially successful play, of all time. With eight sell-out tours of Britain and the UK, it won France’s premiere theatre award for comedy – The Molière Prize, in 2001.
