Chimu Adventures

Based on the Sunshine Coast since 2005 with offices across four continents, Chimu Adventures is Australia’s leading travel company to South America and Antarctica, and operate a ship to Antarctica (the Ocean Endeavour).

Until recently, the business focussed on sales in the USA, with tours departing from Argentina. The travel industry stalled in March 2020 and they were forced to change their operational procedures and booking conditions to adapt to COVID-19. Whilst the past nine months has involved painful decisions for the business, they’ve found opportunity in the face of adversity launching Aurora Australis flights in the Australian market departing from Australian cities.

Chimu Co-Founder Chad Carey is convinced that the flip side of the recovery will only provide greater opportunity, provided people are willing to be open minded to change. He expects the industry to bounce back bigger and better in the coming years providing further confidence to other Sunshine Coast business owners.
