Invasive plants
Learn about our region's invasive plants, council's programs and how you can protect your place.
An invasive plant is an introduced plant that poses a significant threat to Sunshine Coast’s biodiversity, agriculture, community or economy. You can help by managing invasive plants at your place. Not all green is great for your place.
When choosing plants for your garden stick to planting native or non-invasive plants. For more information on plants that are best suited to your area and garden you can visit council's native plants page or visit a native plant nursery.
