Hope O'Chin is a visual artist and long-term advocate for change, based in Nambour on the Sunshine Coast. Spanning three decades, Hope O'Chin's practice is informed by her contributions in arts and education towards community development across south-east Queensland. Since her first public exhibition, `Hope a Continual Dreaming' at Brisbane's Metro Arts in 1993, Hope O'Chin has exhibited her work internationally, interstate and at over 25 Queensland-based galleries, projects and agencies.

A Gubbi-Gubbi / Wakka-Wakka woman, Hope O'Chin was born into the dormitory systems of the Aboriginal Settlement of Cherbourg (an Aboriginal community first established by the Salvation Army in 1899, approximately two hours west of Noosa, QLD). With qualifications in education, the arts and communications, her life work continues to contextualise contemporary Indigenous culture and its relationship to broader community development in Australia.
