The ‘We Recover Better Together’ project was delivered by Council as part of the Community Recovery & Resilience Officer Program, funded by State and Federal government, to strengthen the community’s recovery following the 2022 floods. The project recognises community strengths and values, and the importance of connection especially in the face of disaster and recovery. We don’t have to face it alone. Together we thrive.

“Working Towards Welcome” with the Sunshine Multicultural Advisory Group

Our region is growing and home to a diverse community. Our Multicultural Advisory Group have been working to advocate for migrants in the wider community, to raise issues that are local but also have global significance. We are committed to walking side by side to help our community become even more inclusive and welcoming. Together we thrive.

"Changing Perceptions" of young people across the Sunshine Coast

Our young people on the Sunshine Coast people have told us that the community can have a negative perception of who they are and what they can contribute. In this video, our young people share about what is important to them and how they are already positively contributing to our communities, and wanting to continue to be a part of change in our community. "Action Now" to help ease the housing and homelessness crisis

We are all being encouraged to learn more about homelessness. Council recognises that responding to homelessness is 'Everybody's Business' and requires all levels of government and community to work together.
