Friends of Currimundi Lake Inc.
Currimundi Lake was formed in 1988 to work with the then Council to draw up a management plan to care for Currimundi Lake area in weeding and planting for erosion plus to care for the water quality of the lake.
Since then, there have been major changes in the Lake with development throughout the catchment causing conservation problems and compounding the litter problem.
The population explosion has been a problem which has caused major concerns with erosion and litter management.
Because of the canals and development throughout the catchment and surrounding areas a new management plan is being looked at. The committee meets six times a year and the working bees, which are weeding and planting, are held once a month every second Wednesday of the month at 8:00am.
We desperately need more people for these working bees and also the committee needs extra people. There is no membership fee.
